Armando Jardim, Ph.D.
Director of Research and Development
Armando Jardim obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Victoria, followed by postdoctoral training at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He has held a Professorship at the Institute of Parasitology and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. He served as the Director of the Centre for Host-Parasite Interactions and Director of the Institute of Parasitology. Dr. Jardim's research programs have focused on identifying molecular strategies to combat and diagnose human pathogenic organisms, including the medically important protozoan parasites Leishmania and Trypanosoma cruzi and the foodborne bacteria enterohemorrhagic E. coli and Listeria monocytogenes. Dr. Jardim has authored 75 publications in leading-edge journals and holds several patents that stemmed from his research programs. He has served as an expert reviewer for numerous national and international funding agencies and as an Associate Editor for the journals PLOS Neglected and Tropical Diseases, Scientific Reports, and Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology.
